Tiffany Jiloca proves to be the golden girl

Tiffany Jiloca struck gold when she competed for the first time in the 2018 Canada National Karate Championship held in Richmond in early June. She was competing in the 10- 11 years old Girls Individual Kata Event (Advanced/Black Category). She performed Sepai and Sisochin katas.

Jiloca, who moved to Canada when she was young, won all her rounds. She competed with 98 karate clubs across the country and more than 600 athletes.

Her instructors from the Ku Yu Kai Club thought she deserved the win after putting too much effort into perfecting her katas inside the dojo and at home. They also said she showed discipline and focus during her regular karate classes.

She attends Our Lady of Good Counsel in Surrey, BC. The school recognized Jiloca for her achievement after the flag ceremony.
