What is the best part of your job?   
The best part of my job is working with a diverse group of clients who are passionate about their business.  At PwC I learn something new every day. It’s exciting to be able to put my knowledge and expertise into practice.  This position has exposed me to many different industries and allows me to learn from other professionals at the firm. 

What are some of the challenges you’re currently facing at work?
As I encounter many different industries in my line of work, I need to ensure that I am up to speed with the latest issues facing industry, accounting policies, and the latest tax changes,as this allows me to better serve my clients’ needs.

MY EDUCATION

Degree(s) & Institution:  I have a Bachelor of Arts, with a specialization in economics from the University of Victoria and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.

Why did you choose to pursue a CMA?
I chose to pursue the CMA designation as the CMA Strategic Leadership Program combines both the leadership and strategic management skills with financial and accounting knowledge.  This program allowed me to gain the financial and accounting knowledge I needed as an Accountant, but it also developed my leadership skills which is crucial in today’s world.  I strongly believe that the CMA designation has given me the tools that will lead to my future success!

LIFESTYLE

Favourite recreational activity: Hiking

Upcoming vacation plans:
I just finished a two month trip to Europe and Asia this past summer.  I’m looking forward to exploring South America or Africa this year.

Community involvement: 
I have the opportunity to volunteer in the community through PwC and have volunteered with the Surrey Food Bank and participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Ride for Diabetes Research.

MY FUTURE

In five years, I see myself (both professionally and personally):
Having gained insight to many different businesses and industries, in the next five years, I hope to provide more financial and strategic planning for organizations in the future.
