Even with a line of acting projects this year, Kristine Hermosa decided it was time to finally go back to school.

In the February issue of Manila’s Metro Magazine, the 25-year-old shares that she finally decided it was time to go back to her studies.

The Metro Magazine cover girl is currently enrolled in the University of the Philippines Open University program where she is pursuing an Associate in Arts degree.

"I enrolled in the second semester. The staff was surprised when I went inside the office. I decided to study in UP because my grandmothers on the Hermosa side were professors there," she says in the cover story.

The pretty actress, who will soon be paired with ex-flame Jericho Rosales and heartthrob Derek Ramsay on separate acting projects says she’s been enjoying the single life lately.

"I’ve been independent for quite some time.Do everything without a helper. I’m hands-on with my life," she admits.

She also says that she is glad that she and Echo got over their initial awkwardness of working together again.

"That was the first time Echo and I were paired up after a long time. We never had a chance to really talk after we broke up, so we didn’t know where to start when we saw each other on the set. Even having a simple conversation was hard," she recalls.

But things are definitely much better now between the two, with Echo even being supportive of her in their new series, in which they play childhood sweethearts.

"The other people on set we’re actually teasing us that we might get back together," she says.
