Disney will be presenting his Pixar’s Toy Story 3 this year when it comes to the Lower Mainland.
Gig Siruno, who was formerly a skaterand line captain with Disney on Ice, is the show’s performance director.
As part of the Disney on Ice team, Gig, who is Filipino in backgroud, has traveled to Europe, China and South Korea.
This year, for the first time in a Disney on Ice show, Pixar’s Toy Story 3 will features all-new 3-D technology.
Toy Story 3 came out in 2010. The toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college.
Woody, the lead chracter in the animation, works to convince the other toys that they weren’t abandoned.
Innovative lighting helps create the 3-D effects in scenes when the aliens first appear and when the toys try and escape from Sunnyside Daycare.
As for Gig, he couldn’t have picked a better time to come to the Lower Mainland, as the mountains are just opening.
He says if he could be a professional athlete in any other sport he’d pick Snowboarding. “It’s the inner thrill junkie in me.”
