Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW) is back in full force this April, unveiling a dynamic and diverse lineup for its highly anticipated Fall/Winter 2025 season.
For over 24 years, this prestigious showcase has elevated Canadian talent while spotlighting the global diversity of the fashion world.
With more than 45 designers from over 10 countries, VFW continues to offer a vibrant platform where creativity meets culture, empowering both emerging and established designers to expand their media presence and global reach.
From April 8 to 13, 2025, fashion lovers and industry insiders will descend upon Vancouver for six days of immersive runway experiences.
Whether it's the refined elegance of Australia’s Aisha Ellen Garments, the bold streetwear edge of America’s Astrophe Apparel, or the ethereal couture of French designer JULIE EHME, this season's lineup captures the spectrum of modern style. Standouts also include Thailand’s TRIKUL, Mexico’s Indigenous collective NUDO 6/6, and Chinese visionary RuirUiruI, whose “genderless, ageless, and classless” designs are poised to redefine the limits of fashion identity.
And while international designers bring global flair, local talent continues to make bold statements. Alex S. Yu, fresh off London and New York shows, returns with his whimsical aesthetic; Eduardo Ramos, a VFW alum since 2019, showcases a new Paris collection; and sustainability takes center stage with names like Delayne Dixon, who transforms upcycled and deadstock materials into runway-ready garments.
Student showcases from LaSalle College and Vancouver Community College (VCC) further affirm VFW’s role as a springboard for the next generation.
This year’s Nancy Mak Award goes to Vancouver’s Bahar Kianpour, a designer celebrated for her ethereal, elegant work. Honouring the late Nancy Mak’s legacy of creative mentorship, the award reaffirms VFW’s commitment to investing in fresh, visionary talent.
But just as the main event celebrates the vanguard of adult fashion, the spotlight also shines brightly on the next generation.
Vancouver Kids Fashion Week (VKFW), taking place April 12–13 at David Lam Hall, returns with a dazzling lineup of young designers and imaginative collections.
A standout platform within the VFW ecosystem, VKFW has become a beacon for youthful creativity, inclusivity, and multicultural expression. The runway will burst with bold colours, whimsical silhouettes, and eco-friendly materials, highlighting the limitless joy and imagination that defines children’s fashion today.
This year’s VKFW showcases both local prodigies and international designers, including high school creators from Vancouver making their runway debuts alongside renowned Japanese brands ikumi and kurumi. Collections range from streetwear to dreamy couture, all designed with children’s comfort and individuality in mind. Emphasis on sustainability and ethical production further reflects VFW’s core values, ensuring that even the youngest fashionistas are dressed for a more thoughtful future.
"At Vancouver Fashion Week, diversity is our greatest strength. We bring together the most incredible design talent from across Canada and the wider world, presenting the most forward-thinking creative concepts to the industry. Fashion is a truly global phenomenon, and it's inspiring to see such a strong mix of designers all under one roof here in Vancouver." says Jamal Abdourahman, founder of Vancouver Fashion Week.
Under Jamal’s leadership, VFW has grown into Canada’s largest and longest-running fashion event, second in North America only to New York Fashion Week.
Through initiatives like the Global Fashion Collective and the ever-expanding VKFW, he has built a global bridge between emerging talent and industry heavyweights. From Tokyo to Paris to Vancouver, the VFW brand now signifies more than fashion—it signifies opportunity, expression, and change.
This season, Vancouver Fashion Week promises a spectacle of reinvention. From avant-garde to timeless classics, every show offers a glimpse into the future of fashion—a future as diverse, dynamic, and daring as the city itself.
