Jo Koy has a new show, and it will premiere globally on Netflix this June.
In a statement, Netflix said "Jo Koy: In His Elements" celebrates the comedian's Filipino-American heritage while highlighting the culture of Manila.
Set for a June 12 release, the show will also showcase other Filipino-American performers such as breakdancer Ronnie, Grammy-winning producer !llmind, singer-songwriter Inigo Pascual, and comedians Andrew Lopez, Joey Guila, and Andrew Orolfo.
Last Friday, Jo Koy shared the story behind his third Netflix show.
"I need to show people where my mom's from, and I had this crazy idea. I was like, let me bring a bunch of my friends that are Filipino, that live in America, that haven't even been back to the Philippines. Let's show them how beautiful the country is, let's show them how beautiful the people are, and let's just do a show," he said in a video posted on his Facebook page.
"Everything about this special is Filipino -- the cameraman, the people in the audience, the people that own the venue," he added. "Let's embrace our culture and have a great time. And I can't wait for the world to see it."
Jo Koy, known for speaking highly of his Filipino roots in his acts, performed in Manila and Cebu last January.
