Van Fashion Week lights up the catwalk

Celebrating its eleventh year in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Fashion Week is back for its fall showcase.
The extravaganza which features both established and up-and-coming designers is taking place this week from Tuesday November 1st to Sunday November 6th.
Showings run throughout the day and take place at Masik Studio, 145 West 2nd Ave in Vancouver.
Founded by producer Jamal Abdourahman, Vancouver Fashion Week takes place bi-annually during spring and fall.
2010 attendees included Hollywood stars, such as Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, as well as Canadian music giants Sam Roberts and Alanis Morrisette.
The line-up for this week’s show includes a lineup of emerging international designers from Canada, Poland, Mexico, Korea, Brazil, Germany, India, Ireland, and more.

Wednesday November 2

Joseph Ribkoff - 6PM
Veteran Canadian designer Joseph Ribkoff (established1957) will lead off Vancouver Fashion Week. All of Ribkoff’s clothing is designed, sewn and produced in Canada (Dorval, Quebec), which is a remarkable feat in today’s fashion world. Kings & Paupers - 8PM
Stocked and distributed out of Vancouver, Kings & Paupers is an artisan based jeans company that focuses on producing quality denim attire one item at a time. Valerio Moda - 8PM
Vancouver based Ali Mokhtarian specialised in made to measure leather apparel and suits through his partnership in the Valerio Collection. Mokhtarian previously created “Hirad by Ali” which delivered high end leather fashion to men, women and children.
