Bussing through Vancouver’s history

Did you know Vancouver was once a mecca for neon signs back in the 1940’s and 50’s.
It also once possessed a transit system that was the envy of other cities across North America.
Andrew Firestone, a local artist, has put together an exhibition of images and public transit history now showcasing at the Eastwood Donley Gallery.
Today Vancouver possesses the largest fleet of trolley buses in Canada, though a public system that has lagged in growth behind the urban sprawl that has spilled beyond the city’s borders into the GVRD.
The exhbition begins its two-day stop at the Eastwood Onley Gallery (2075 Alberta Street, Vancouver) with an opening reception on October 15.
