Breast cancer prevention clinic

The Breast Cancer Prevention & Risk Assessment Clinic has developed new sessions to help Filipino women assess their breast cancer risk and identify ways to reduce their risk.
When Filipino women immigrate to Canada, their breast cancer risk increases because of changes in lifestyle and environment. Recent research shows that Filipino women are often diagnosed with breast cancer younger than other ethnic groups in Canada and with more aggressive cancer.
According to Statistics Canada, Filipinos are the third largest non-European community in Canada.
The next clinic, September 28, will be held at Vancouver’s Hillcrest Community Centre on 4575 Clancy Loranger Way.
To register, call  604-603-5140 or email [email protected].
