Penang Delight-FUL!

I've been wanting to try Penang Cafe every time I visit Kimura on Rupert. It's always packed. Aromas wafting out from the café are amazing! I took my stepdad there for a new taste experience! We started off with the basics - their Hainanese Chicken. The chicken is flavourful.
If you get Hainanese Chicken, you have order rice. Penang Delight offers Coconut Rice and Chicken Rice. The Coconut Rice is fragrant and made with coconut milk. The aroma is sweet, but it has a bit of salt that makes it savoury. The Chicken Rice is rich - made with chicken broth. The flavours from stir-fried rice, garlic and ginger make the dish perfectly toasted.
Another classic dish is the Hokkian Mee, which is reminiscent of a classic Shanghainese dish: thick noodles in a rich sauce made with oyster sauce and soy sauce, tossed with veggies, pork, chicken and a few shrimp, with a bit of sambal chili paste for a kick.
We tried the soup, Bak Kut Teh. Although, it's a slow cooked meaty pork bone soup, it’s surprisingly light in texture. There are a few veggies, tofu and mushroom added to the mix, but the star ingredient is the pork bone. The soup is hearty, rich and flavourful.
I was remiss in not ordering their Roti Canai. It’s a "must try". Perhaps I'll just do a takeout order next time I'm in the area!
