Delicious durian dessert in Vancouver

If you love durian, Doolami Dessert on Granville Street is the place to go. Doolami specializes in Asian desserts, and here you will find durian ice cream and durian sago cream.
Doolami is open seven days a week from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with extended hours to midnight on Friday and Saturday. The interior is not very large, so there is limited seating.
My friends and I started with the Durian Sago Cream ($7.99), which was cold, smooth and yummy. It comes in a small bowl and the taste of the durian was like onions. Eat this with caution because if you burp, someone is going to smell the durian on you.
Chilled Mango Cream with Pomelo ($6.99) is a popular dessert. It’s good and delicious. Who can say no to mango? The Chocolate Doolami Ice Cream ($7.99) was quite expensive for what you get. With just two scoops, it was also the last dessert to arrive as they make it fresh to order. The ice cream was soft and is served over a cone bowl.
They also have homemade pints of ice cream for $11.99. Their ice cream has no additives, made of real fruit, and is made in-house. There are a few great flavours available: Durian, Mango, Matcha, Blueberry and Lavender, and Chocolate. They sell out of their pints quite early in the evening, so go early or call ahead of time to request flavours. We got the last durian pint at 8:00 p.m., which was one hour after they opened.
